Just in time for the festivities, our A/W collection from Aron of Facture Goods arrived in the likings of Santa Claus— in a big sack, but via speed post direct from the US. Hence, we decided to do a Yuletide shoot to feature the gorgeous handcrafted plates on our webstore (click here to shop!) and social media platforms. In true Chun Tsubaki spirit, we never fail to refine and redefine and before we knew it, the shoot soon turned into a full-on Christmas shoot complete with a festive feast of turkey and roasts, dried floral wreaths and not forgetting a live Christmas tree!
To tell you the truth, this shoot was an eleventh-hour decision and we scrambled to get all the decorations and festive items. Thanks to very kind and extremely generous partners, we were able to loan the most exquisite Christmas ornaments from Crate & Barrel, delicate Christmas wreaths from Floral Magic, tableware from Stylo Deco for the mid-century modern look we adore and finally a delectable romertopf (clay-baked) turkey from Grand Hyatt Hotel!
The shoot brought our team together, combining our various creative talents. Chef Ryan got busy in the kitchen and whipped up several dishes: Roasted Baby Potatoes and Brussel Sprouts with a Balsamic Glaze, Yam Rice and the cherry on top (literally), Cherry Tequila Pavlova! The Christmas Tree and presents were styled by Claire, creative strategist/copywriter, a self-professed Christmas lover and of course, the photos were taken by C.R our director and Shaun, the latest addition to our Chun Team!
The entire set took around two hours to style and we don’t mean to brag, but we took a good fifteen minutes to stand in awe and marvel at the pinterest-worthy end product. Three settings, multiple angles and dozens of photos later, we finally got to sink our teeth into the festive feast. The hardest part was not the setting up but rather getting over the inertia to tear down the set which we poured our heart into styling. Nonetheless, such is the life in the line of production, encompassing fleeting yet fulfilling projects.
In all honesty, we’re amazed at how fast the year flew by and we’re just 2 months shy of reaching our 1-year mark. Looking back, all we can say is that we’re extremely grateful for the love and support of our dearest friends and clients. You are the reason we’re here today as you constantly inspire us to push our creative boundaries and reach new heights. We’ve grown so much in the past 10 months and we wouldn’t be here without you. Exciting projects and collaborations are in the pipeline for 2019 and we’re looking forward to embarking on exciting creative adventures and forging memorable experiences that leave an indelible impression. Likewise, we hope that we can inspire you to always be in the pursuit of a creative life, and in the words of Elizabeth Gilbert ‘to become anything really, that calls your heart and brings you to life’.
Here’s wishing you a Blessed Christmas, may the joy, love and hope of the holiday season prevail in your soul no matter the season. Our heart is so so full, thank you for a wonderful 2018 and cheers to new beginnings in the New Year!
Team Chun, signing out!
